Default as long as you like bland cake that all tastes the same

Yes Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Suzuki, all make bikes, all nice rides. But where is the love man!!! BMW, Moto Guzzi, Triumph, dare I say buell... They have some class and do it their own unique way. They don't even taste like vanilla...

Default Guilty of Small thinking? :)

Lets see Honda has the V4 of the Interceptor and the Magna, V-Twins of the Shadow, VTX etc. The sport bike V-Twins of the RC51 and VTR, The boxer 6s of the Valkerie and Goldwing. Off course the inlines which is probably the vanilla you are talking about. Yamaha gives us the VMAX and FZ1 and R1. Suzuki gives the V-Strom and Haybusa etc. Kawasaki gives us Ninjas and Mean Streaks. All have some original thinking don't you think?

Hmm I think there is more variety in the Japanese box of Candy than you think.

Here, here Probuzz. I agree. It seems that the only thing worse than our pro-BMW snobbery is the anti-BMW people's dislike. They won't even give the brand a chance. Yes these bike's do not handle like your CBR's etc. They're not designed too. I don't put down other brands of motorcycles just because I don't care for them. As a matter of fact I have liked many on the Jap bikes that I've driven or owned. But the fact remains, most Jap bikes don't survive long enough to 100K miles on them. If they do, they're not worth the money needed to keep them running. But I'm sure you know of an exception. I personally know ten to fifteen people that have well over 100K miles on their BMW's. Oh yeah, most of them didn't need the head work yet.

Yes BMW does have it fair share of posers just like Honda, Kawaski, Yamaha, Suzuki, Harley Davidson, Ducati, Aprilia, and every other manufacturer. To anyone who rides, you are welcomed to come ride with myself and my BMW snobs anytime. Rest assured if I don't like you it won't be because of the bike you ride.

So please feel free to flame me just because I like BMW. But be reasonably sure that I like whatever bike you're riding too.

Take care,

Dave

Funny how all those V-Twins appear from a company that publicly stated in the 80's that the V-Twin was an inferior design to the inline four. Since you aren't old enough to remember that, how would you feel about buying a design that the mfg. already designated as "inferior"? I guess sellling you a bike is more important to Honda than their integrity. So I guess the Japanese "box of candy" has a few "inferior" ones they want to sell you.

This has got to be the ugliest bike from a manufacturer that specialises in ugly and mechanically clunky bikes, that require extensive doses of preventive maintainance to "last forever" I would rather be seen on a 250 Honda Rebel as my first bike, it would save you lot's of money to boot! Ugh...
