It was a joke dude. I think relaxation is something you should take seriously.

While I would never buy one for myself, I could see my daughter on one in a couple of years.

One of the things that your article did bring to light is Yamaha offers a bunch of cool stuff in Europe and we need to beg to get it here.

Case in point FJR1300 and now real scooters.

Come on Yamaha Why does it take a year to bring something you're already building to the US. I can understand the pre-release hype on new products but come on.

Default 50cc's

Just to make a comment on the 50cc thing. I think the reason that scooters are limited to 50cc's in north america is because all you need to ride it is a regular car license whereas anything over 50cc's requires a motorcycle license. At least that the case in Canada and i'm assuming it's the same in the U.S.

I don't know how many people would actually go through the effort of getting a motorcycle license just to ride a scooter.

Go to the UK, walk into a bar with a few scooters parked outside, voice your views and see if you survive. I remember back in the 80's they were having a ton of trouble with Scooter Gangs vs. Biker gangs. Europe and Asia take scooters seriously. Unfortunately most views here in the good ole US are that the Machine makes the man...

My uncle went down to the DMV on a Honda Passport (anyone remember those?) to get his license. The instructor laughed at him, made him ride in a circle then passed him. While he didnt get his license for the scooter, he got it with the scooter. Granted the cone test course isnt tough, but he found an easier way to get out of it.

As was mine. I'm cool if you're cool.

Too many people on this particular thread (and the rest of the web for that matter) are way too serious about it.
