Fogarty can certainly ride and certainly knows a lot about riding/racing, but no helmet can be found that fits his ego bloated noggin. Not a real big fan of his.

True enough, but outward personality and inner drive/confidence do not a TEAM make...nowadays his compulsion to win will be very handily tempered by the absolute need to do good diplomacy...keep everyone happy re: owners/crew, developers, smaller sponsors, and so on. And add to that something which is historically difficult for "type A" personalities like Foggy's: the necessity of being a grown-up just at the time the rider throws a tantrum.

For perspective, look at military genuises who go into politics and fail miserably...they can no longer dictate, they must negotiate, and often, the skills required for one are liabilities in the other arena.

I give you U.S. Grant, Ghengis Khan, Herod the Petrarch.

Is Petronas really going to successfully market a motorcycle for street use? What's the point of all this prep for racing WSB if they can't compete for street sales?

Great article guys. I recently signed up for the site (I was reluctant to part with my 12 bucks) and I must say with articles like these it'll be well worth the fee. Now if you can just get that 2002 R1 vs 2002 954RR comparison up I'll most definitely be satisfied. Any idea on when it'll be up?

The R1 intro in Spain isn't for a few weeks still. once that's over, it'll be another few weeks before we get press bikes back here in teh U.S.

Frustrating, isn't it?

Yeah, but being a "first-post weenie" is what its all about at MO. Why bother reading the article, just say first post, or bash Harleys or sportbikes, or the MO staff.

Then later whine about it.

Maybe some of the "not-so-anonymous squids" will dissappear now that they have to fork over their lunch money to read the site.

Fogarty would make a great Satan in any movie - just look at him.

When he was racing Superbikes, my wife would go off and watch HGTV while I watched the races. Afterwards she'd come back downstairs and ask, "Did Satan win again?"

He usually had.

It is strange that wsb.com published this same article a while ago.
