Then why did the all mighty HONDA bump it up to a bigger displacment so quick?

Could it be that they have been getting there butts kicked latley?

Oh yea, quick. How many technical inovations do you see that have come out from Honda and soon copied by the other Manufacturers.

Now lets talk Monoshock, Deltabox, Exup, Powervalves, 17" wheels, Big Bang engine.

And by the way. Honda incredible Uni Cam disign used on there cr450f, It made it's debut on the 1986 Acura legend and nobody has bothered to copy it yet.

Default I am in agreement re: the 'Bird

I've got a '99 XX which suits me quite well. Trained as an (old -school) pilot, I have a preference for analog guages over digital; and that would make me prone to keep my '99 as opposed to acquiring a new one. Honda has not made any other changes of signifigance (at least to US models, that I'm aware of..) that would entice me to consider updating to a later model... besides, I like black.

Ok, I know this isnt a tech forum but I'm looking for some advice. I ride a 2001 R1 and recently installed a micron pipe. A few days later I added a K&N air filter, everyone said that it would lean the bike out and make it hesitate ect. The bike runs great with the intake and exhaust upgrades, pulls much harder at high RPM and I have noticed no ill affects. Through everyones constant nagging though, I am a bit concerned about hurting the engine if I dont have it jetted. Should I be worried?
