You've got to feel bad for the privateers. They spend $100K + of their own money to buy a bike and prep it, take a year off for training, recruit a volunteer crew and some sponsors, fly everyone to Spain, buy a truck that will withstand the desert to carry crew, only to have it cancelled the night before it starts. Good luck finding sponsors for next year's event. This could be the end of the toughest rally in the world, if they don't figure out a way to guarantee it will be run. Shame.

Good point, but I think it's queer that the terrorists, who claim to look out for the indigenous population, have queered an event that brought a great deal of economic benefit to the region. To add to the irony, gay terrorists will probably be happily piling faggots of wood onto bonfires to celebrate their "victory."
