Who would have thought the country right next F'n door would be the first Western Nation to capitulate and adopt Sharia Law?

Maybe they ought to run the Paris to Dakar with a new class, the over 15,000 cc 60 ton class. See if the Al Quada a holes can deal with a 105mm smooth bore shootin' anti-personnel rounds. I'd pay big $$$ to see that.

Current class specs show a 120mm

Not to mention the availability of diesel over JP5 in the Third World

In the interest of reducing the logistics footprint, at the Navy's bidding, it's all JP8 now. You guys are old school . For those that don't know when you make the switch be sure to have 3 sets of filters handy.

JP5, JP8, diesel, gasoline, it doesn't matter. With a litle tinkering, it will all burn in the M1A1's waste matter converter.

We had tanks fuel up with diesel at the refinery in Al-Dhoura a few years back. Krappiest diesel in Baghdad.
