...let's pull it back to motorcycles. The "accident stats" are almost invariably purposefully cooked to achieve a predetermined outcome. Even though fatalities have been falling per mile traveled for more than a decade the stinking NHTSA still manages to create the atmosphere where the dangers appear far worse than they actually are. The numbers are manipulated to justify more power and influence for the NHTSA. Oh, yes and for their masters at the IIHS. Heh heh. follow the money.

That’s absolutely true. But the problem is to find the middle road.

For example in France the guys have 36 hour working week plus 5 week annual vacation. They still do 40 hrs and save the rest to have 9 week vacation. Not a bad situation, especially considering they have also craploads of excellent wine and good looking women of easy virtue.

But then nothing is enough for them. They throw the whole country to chaos if the govt. wants to increase the railway workers’ pension age from 50 years. That’s not the way to build the nation either.

Well could happen for an occasional quarterback but YOU try getting drunk and then t-boning some woman who doesn’t stop at the red. I can already see the headlines “DataDan murders mother of three” and a picture of your sorry face with a sinister smile photoshopped on. People chanting outside the courtroom waiving placards “God hates gays”. You’d get long enough sentence that later on you’d be able to catch baseballs with your buthole.

It's dicey, how do you balance Constitutional Rights with those of the Victim/General Public?

My thought is if it saves just one life, it's worth it.
