Curious about your take on this:
Every jurisdiction seems to have a "distracted driving" law of some sort. So why is everyone clamoring to add cel phone specific laws to their books? Is it just a bunch of political hooey or are there inherent problems with the typical "distracted" laws? |

1. Speeding is more fun when intoxicated.
2. Taking speed before speeding while drinking keeps you from passing out. 3. Kokaine has similar effects to speed, but usually results in speeding to the strip club where the cops are hanging out. 4. Speed doesn't kill people, impact with objects while traveling at high speed kills people.

Saw (luckily) two speed traps this last weekend while riding along the Sacramento River delta on highway 160 near Isleton, and one along highway 4 near Antioch, CA. Sneaky bastards... I guess I should be glad I was tired from riding all day, so I was putting along.

Change #4 to "Moose" the further North you go, to "Deer" the further South, and you pretty-much have it.
