corrupt municipalities seeking easy revenue? out of the thousands and thousands of tickets i've written, I've never seen a dime. most of the 'revenue' goes to the state, not the municipalities. i can assure you that there isnt a single officer whose reason for running traffic is revenue for the city, county, state, etc.

Jeezus. What crackpot designed those exhaust silencers? Looks like some cast off idea from a '63 150 Dream Cycle.
Kawi should look close at what they're smoking at lunch in the exhaust design dept. Thanks for the link.

a. minimum speed laws are strictly enforced, in my opinion these slow vehicles are alot more dangerous due to the congestion they cause behind them
b. don't have a cellphone law here, wish we did, i'd hammer em. they are often times the ones speeding, cutting through traffic etc. youre guess might be right, however theres alot more people going 15 over then those that go 40 on the freeway. |

It kind of seems like they are determined to make the exhausts worse on each generation of this model.
Fear the redesign in 2009. |

First it was those gold picklefork jobs, then the giant gold elongated trombone bells, now 4 kinda gold trombone bells that have been squished into a...what, rhomboid?
Phew. Maybe MO should have a contest to see who can guess the next design? I forsee multi gold "zoomerang" pipes, that wrap aound the bike and form a protective capsule for the rider.

Here in Texas they had to pass a state law to limit the practice. Small towns were funding their whole government, such as it was, from speeding tickets handed out on the interstate going through town. Sealy was a notorious speed trap close to my home. The state law now limits the amount of revenue the town can keep, with the rest going to the state.
So yes, corrupt municipalities were wringing easy revenue from motorists. |

Maybe, but the Mayor of Clinton, Utah has a day job where I work. A few years back another town Mayor showed him how much his city made on tickets. The Clinton Mayor immediately hired another police officer to exclusively write tickets all day long. Not just for traffic but also for any other code violations like (I kid you not) lawns not properly cared for. LOL!
