It's a shame the guy is dead. But jumping in front of a moving vehicle because you don't like how they're driving is beyond dumb, it's suicidal. And nobody, even the cops, has a right to risk anyone's life over a damn traffic infraction. I agree with another post, if he'd lived, he should have been charged for reckless endangement at a minimum.

Hey, I'm all for contributing. Have any test bikes you want to give me? Want to give me a grand and see how far I can make it last on a roadtrip, then I'll send in a write up? No?
Well, ok then Tom Sawyer, you may have the others fooled, but I ain't payin' y'all for the privilege of whitewashing your fence. |

"Some of us still believe in right and wrong. I have made a citizens arrest and would do it again. This man was obviously of the same mindset. Some folks get irritated with jerks who buzz through their neighborhoods at high rates of speed. You obviously don't care about right and wrong, or are very callous."
How do you know that the motorcyclist was traveling at a "high rate of speed"? Because the reporter told you so? Because the "neighbors" told the reporter? High rate of speed in relation to what? If it's posted 35, and he was doing 40-45, is that considered a high rate? Or was it that he merely had a loud exhaust that annoyed the old man? So, I can't see the difference between Right and Wrong - i.e. to speed, or operate a piece of loud machinery is "Wrong"; but to attempt to assault that person (and actually harm them - even though it resulted in your own Death) is "Right". Got it. Thanks for the Lesson in Morality. Yeah, I bet you and the old man ARE of the same mindset............

I've gotten my 14 dollars worth this year though, seriously, even if it's weak it still costs less than three printed magazines.

all's you have to do is become the Editor of MO for awhile, then you get the lifetime subscription and therefore don't feel gypped. Hello Cashley wherever you are...
yeah, i try not to judge these stories without more info. Maybe the old guy wanted to be a stuntah and was trying to get the kid to stop and chat or take him for a 2-man wheelie? ridiculous stuff happens. better to be kilt by a speeding moto at 82 than by an IED at 19. in any case, RIP. |

Sure, Pennsylvania octogenarians think they know how to stunt. But here in West Michigan, it's motorized wheelchairs and semis!
