Let's see now, we want 1400 cc, Ohlins, and an 8k price? Throw in (your favorite superbabe here) to drive ahead and meet me at a motel and attend to your other (ahem) needs and you've got a sale.

Will you be continuing the "Single Malt Review" sidebar?

Standards seem to be a pretty hard sell as the market is sharply divided into specific models - repli racers, cruisers and touring bikes.

This lack of demand has created an opportunity. There are good bikes out there at great prices. The new Bandit 1250 looks like a bargain. As for me, I got an '06 leftover Yamaha FZ-1, put a slip on and a PCIII on it with the right map and roosted off into the sunset on a bike that is comfy, handles sharp, is incredibly powerful and responsive, cranks out 145 hp at the wheel and that the dealer let go for only $7,999. With tax it was 8.4K OTD. They dropped the setup and shipping charges.

My bike got treated to a full Akra system. I love my FZ!

I thought the Z750 was a terrible machine. The cams had to come out for valve adjustments; damper rod fork; and some other major shortcomes I can't think of at the moment.

The answer is...wait for it...no.

How many different ways to you expect them to carve up a small niche market for naked bikes? Yeah, I know, this has been covered in this thread already. And I agree that the ZX-14 motor would probably be too much for that bike.

P.S. I once owned and loved a ZRX.

I test rode the new Bandit 1250S last weekend. Wow!! Lots of grunt and smooth running motor.

Have you seen a ZX-14 in person? The suspension is as good as anything Ohlins can make and the fittings, paint and finish are spectacular. If you want a bike that is designed as a corporate statment of Kawasaki, I doubt you could do better. Put one next to a ZX-12R and it's like night and day. Put one next to a Hayabusa and it's like yesterday and tomorrow.

If I can get mine with Bianca Beauchamp (note: GIS is not safe for work) and at invoice instead of MSRP I'll buy too.

I've got one of the faster ZRXs around. It's stripped street fighter style. Its 80 pounds lighter than stock, has Ohlins in the back and upgraded fork in the front.

ZZR1200 cams and a 1224 kit give it 157 DynoJet HP at the rear wheel.

I love this bike. It rocks, handles like its on rails and I can outrun all but the best sport bike pilots on it. I've run a 1.48 at Barber on it. It's heavy but that is the only complaint.

Kawi should make one with the level of performance my bike currently has using the ZX14 motor. Then provide easy upgrade access to 210HP. With the Dual Shock retro look this would sell like hotcakes. Plenty of people are running 230HP ZRXs on the drag strip with no issues. Saying that the bike won't handle that much power is BS!
