Where's bigdx when we need him? With the wind in his hair?

I've lived in Florida for years (Boy, do I miss Alaska....), and obtained a motorcycle endorsement the first year one was offered. Until the adoption of this bill, there were two methods of obtaining an endorsement: By passing prescribed written and skills tests, or by presenting proof of completion of an approved motorcycle safety course. Most of the motorcyclists I know chose the latter, since it's actually fun and beats the heck out of waiting for hours in a hot, packed-out DMV examining facility. For the record, that's the way everyone in my family has done it, and I have made it my practice to go through the course each time one of my sons does. Makes them feel comfortable, and can't hurt the old man, either. I always seem to find that I've started doing something I shouldn't, or stopped doing something I should. This law makes sense.

Now, of course, the mandatory Automobile Safety Course before obtaining a driver's license will be next up on the legislative agenda.

Right?

I say send everyone to the 3 day Skip Barber Car Control class or it's equivalent before they're allowed to drive. What we save in the cost of wrecks, injuries, attorneys, cops, judges, yadayadayada will easily pay for it. And, it will be more fun to drive with more qualified participants out there!

Socko-Master just doesn't have enough time here lately to juggle his REAL persona, the kay-pee one, AND bigdx as well.

This is great, but there remains at least one truth...

Two things on the front and back of a car in Florida that will give you nightmares: "Buick" and "Ontario, Yours To Discover".

There's a front brake? By the gods... I wondered why I skidded to every stop on my rear. Ah... now I know what that lever in on my right handlebar. *grin*

Screw that, my GT2 will blow the socks off of half the bikes on the road and I bought the thing when I was 17.*

*I don't own a GT2
