The problem is with people, not marriage. Marriage doesn't cause one to become abusive. You are young, and I can assure you of 3 things:

1. You will not get a prenup, unless she has much more than you to lose.

2. No woman will be hanging around long without a commitment (marriage).

3. You will get taken to the cleaners in ANY relationship where there are children involved.

Bet the house on those 3 things, and you will be way ahead of the game. Been there, done that.

I am not being mean when I say I have heard your story told hundereds of times, how you won't get married, and you won't get taken, gonna get a prenup and all the rest. A full 100% of these guys got married, and not one prenup. Not one. Have one child and you just bought yourself 20% of your pay removed from your check for 18 years. Add 5% for each extra child. Marriage isn't even involved there. I think you might even get cheated worse if you aren't married. Some hottie will clean out your savings and take off and you will be SOL.

I'm trapped in the living hell known as South Florida. We're going to Mom's house in Cocoa Beach after work Saturday. Sunday am West to 27, then down South through the countryside. They say it may rain, but I'm kinda interested in testing the weather features of the new bike. The guy I got it from says it's bone dry at anything over 40mph. Now as for my pal on the Road King...he may get wet!

I have been feeling the same thing with the BMW 2002 R1150R that I have. It is still one of the best all rounders out there. Each year I think about getting something new but don't. Instead I'll upgrade something. This year its Sargent seats. Other years - rear seat travel bag. Another factor is that the bike is just nicely broken it at up to 50000 km and you will lose depreciation. It would have to be real nice to get me to switch - maybe the RT as I get older and want to avoid the cold! Or the ST800 to get into a lighter bike as I age.

Default Welp

A chick that makes her own money and pays her own way and is non-emotional and practical about relationship issues is called a man.

If you meet a woman like that you might want to start the relationship with a crotch grab just to be sure.

I like what I've seen about the ST 800, that looks like an Ideal all rounder as well.

I will never again be without a bike with hard saddlebags. I'm spoiled now.
