I hate to say it, but in 30 plus years of riding, not one person that asked for my advice on a starter bike has taken my advice. All have 'gone for the gusto' and bought all they could get. Many scared themselves right out of the sport. Maybe 1 in 10 stayed with it.

Funny, I figured out how to not buy a gixxer thou as my first bike all on my own.

Just when you thought you'd seen it all. Now the idiot is a crackerjack law enforcement expert who gives lectures to active police officers about the errors of their ways. LOL!

Have you guys been on this forum for long?

I love the sarcasm! It is what I come here for.

I read this post after about 2.5 hours of sleep and no caffeination. So, excuse me for being all serious.

The perils of a free market economy. Buyers and sellers working in concert to meet the needs of both. When one comes up on the short end of the stick, so do both eventually.

If they're financing it they are. No one will loan on a vehicle without insurance, if you quit paying for your own insurance they'll set it up themselves and tack it on your payment.

Oh, I don't know....a sawed off 12 gauge pump peeking out under your nose will loosen your wallet (and your bowels) pretty quick....
