Yesterday riding on 405 from tukwilla to Renton in early afternoon rush hour I was going along in steady 45 mph traffic, wall-to-wall cars. The car in front of me slowed up, not particularly suddenly, so I slowed up; I watched in my mirrors as the hufugingmungous dodge truck behind me sped towards me and eventually slammed on its breaks, swerving to the side, and the van behind him did the same; lots of screeching sounds. I had nowhere to go, all I could do was watch. Sobering experience, not sure what I learned except maybe 'Dem der motorcicles is plum dangerous'.

Of course I still took the long way home. I'm not one to learn from history. Besides, I was wearing a helmet, so I would have been fine.

"-SUV Kills WH Man on Motorized Scooter

An SUV struck and killed a West Hempstead man who was operating a motorized scooter on July 21 at 4:05 p.m. in Lakeview, police said."

It's clear from this report that the scooter was at fault. The man should have been riding the scooter, - not "operating" it.

See? MOre proof that MOtorcycles are Extremelty Dangerous and should be banned-outright.
