Hi there. I wasn't talking about increasing fuel economy. If I was worried about fuel economy, I put together a small Diesel bike. Like one of the odd Royal Enfield ones. But, if you want a play bike, that gives good bang for the buck performance, E85 can give more hp., for the same money invested. I'm talking about simple bikes. Like the Carbed Buells and Sportsters. Or Maybe an old KZ1000. Also, as you raise compression, the amount of energy you can recover from a fuel goes up. So, the higher compression you run, with the E85, the better the fuel ecomomy, if you don't go to radical on your cams. Blaine

Hi there. In the ethanol plants around here, they end up getting the alchohal, and end up with a grain or starch by product. And it is sold for a number of uses. But, it still provides food. Just not something I want to cook myself. Also, some of the ethonal, is being made as a byproduct from other industries. So, I really don't believe it will hurt the food market. Blaine

Nah. Vincente Fox fixed it. He ordered price freezes. That'll help (eyes rolling).

It doesn't take much to convert a carbed engine to run on E85.

In Minnesota(where I am) E85 is plentiful. In South Dakota it's typically about $1.00 cheaper than unleaded.

Changing the fuel type doesn't increase the compression ratio.

Isn't ethanol (E85) more corrosive though? Do your jets have to be made of different materials?
