Cannondale was a bike company, one. Two, they were incredibly underfunded. Three, they were not good enough at marketing. Who bought them- ATK (the American dirt bike company).

Buell has the financial backing to pull this off. Rotax's single are a great starting point but going back: ATK supplying motors for Buell designed MXers or even better: Buell acquiring of ATK would allow buellto have ready made MX bikes and atvs that are right in line with the design philosophy.

I think it's up to you to do some recon on KFraud.

Hop on whatever you're riding this week and get the scoop. Fonz can probably photoshop you a pass to get into the mental institution.

I'd be seriously interested in how you know what the bike will weigh since as far as i have found buell doesn't even know.

ELWOOD: It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters, so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile, or what?

JAKE: Fix the cigarette lighter.

I guess I can stake out the Top Foods across from his neighborhood and wait for some Micheal Douglas looking guy to wander past.......

I'll go with the "Blind Begger w/ Minkey" disguise from Return of the Pink Panther....might pick up a few bucks while I'm there

I think the Norwegian sailor with inflatable parrot and wooden leg disguise is more your style.

I brought up cannondale as an example of how hard it is to develope a competitive commercially viable MXer. ATK has not done it either....some success in Enduro and short track. i agree it would accelerate process to buy out existing company, but that doesnt SEEM to be what they have done. I just dont see them trying MX,though I hope Im wrong....i expect dirt track,TT and supermoto. We'll see who's right. At any rate its exciting to see HD/Buell trying to widen their base....though some here think a Superbike is the only way for Buell to go,theres more folk buying dirtbikes than Superbikes.

ELWOOD: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

JAKE: Hiit it.

HA! Ive got two of those...one in a Redline frame. The BAJA actually came as a 100 but most were bored out...both HD and Wiseco(also Webco I think) made the larger pistons for em. My Redline was a 73 prototype designed to compete with the Rickman Zundapps, but the Elsinore halted the project. I was just too heavy for my 71 Baja so i retired it from racing...its in the queue awaiting restoration now. the redline is basically restored...awaiting the Bosses permission to put it in the family room
