I still see those old AEE kit choppers on the local internet classifieds from time to time. Sawr a CB750 kittted chop just a coople of months ago. Whodathunk those deathraps would have survived this long?

As I understand it, there are no dirt bikes there. This disappoints me.

I have been there. Don´t know why (I was probably wondering the same question a the time). It takes the biscuit for the most absurd monument ever "Vulcan". A Kawi must have passed by one day and the locals mistook it for a HD.

For a real yin/yang approach, why not schedule a trip to Barber AND Wheels Through Time up in Maggie Valley, NC. I can't say one is better than the other but they couldn't be more dissimilar or more enjoyable. Have Dale Walksler start up a few relics for you. You'd have a hard time filling a week with better roads and better museums.

Thats the one drawback....very few (there are a couple)dirt bikes. Talking to one of the curators, there may be palns to fix this.

No, not true unless you don't consider bikes like Yamaha DT1s, Hodaka Thunderdogs or Parilla Wildcats dirtbikes. There is something of almost everything at Barber and you will find yourself marvelling at bikes you've never heard of and others you've heard of but never thought you'd actually get to see one in the metal. So go, if you like bikes you will not be disappointed.

Or it could be that they decided to use some nice land less than 10 minutes down the interstate from the airport? Who knows...

Last time I was at WTT, he started an old 4-cylinder Indian - man, that thing sounded awesome.

It's predominantly vintage Harley-Davidson at WTT, but there's not a non-cool bike (or car, or airplane......) in the building.
