"Land Shark!" was funnier but I agree "Land Torpedo" has a nice ring to it.

I like "Naked Standard" but if everyone decided that "Land Torpedo's" would be between "Cruisers" and "Crotch Rockets" I could live with that.

Would a "Land Torpedo" have the same "extender" effect of say, a Porsche?

They better be careful givin' names to stuff, contrarians that many of us are, we just might keep 'em.

Remember "Led Zeppelin".

Interestingly enough, the basic speed law here in CA implies that if you crash your bike, you're at fault because you were going faster than you could safely negotiate the road at that time and under those conditions.

This takes ALL the responsibility off of the cagers, because the motorcyclist is obviously at fault. I don't want to sound like I'm speaking ill of the dead, but nowhere do we hear how the a$$hat ended up hitting the driver of the vehicle. Did he fly over a curb, into a parking lot? Did he run a red light? Did the teacher misjudge the distance from the a$$hole doing 80 and pull through the red(like ALL the drivers do here in So Cal) right into his path? What happened BESIDES the speeding?

My guess is we'll never know.

Good for you. Now go read the US DOT thread. I think I quoted you accurately but you better check and make sure.

I like it. It would be a good opening line for picking up floozies in Hollywood (CA & FL) bars. "Hey baybe, wanna go for a ride on my land torpodo?"

Or better yet "you make my land torpedo feel like a led zeppelin."

Motorcycles are dangerous to their rider. SUVs are dangerous to other people. So which one should be regulated?

Heard of a guy doing 30 years for speeding, still not stoppin' em. Clearly more drastic measures are called for.

Maybe we could rig up an explosive (under the seat) to blow EVERY "speeder" up, every single time?

By God! Why won't everybody just follow any stupid rule we make, ignore any rule/law/treaty/promise WE break and stop trying to think for themselves! Think of how Perfect the World would be if only everyone would be as Perfect as us!

Sure, it's long and hard and if it was any bigger it'd be filled with Seamen too!

Hate the "Big Tickets", not crazy about the little ones.

Guys -

"Wreckless driving" is what we all want - "Reckless driving" is a bad thing, but can unfortunately be applied down here if you accidentally do a mono away from the lights.
