I thought it was pretty funny. I was less than happy about the new white Nike running shoes being toast the first day on my feet. Kicking wet, smoking redwood planks of a fence is different that having coffee at the gym.

Yep but you did a very noble thing not done out of guilt. I respect that. Most people wouldn't . I hope I would but don't know if I would of just called 911 from the safety of my car sipping my latte. Glad you did the right thing.

What surprises me most is that anyone would pay attention to anything printed in the LA Slimes in the first place. It is undoubtedly one of the worst most yellow journalistic newpapers still in print.

Looks like the author was playin' "fast and loose" with the stats. Bucking for a Fed Gov job?

I'm so tired of the scare tactics and knee-jerk stories about dangerous motorcycles and their irresponsible riders, so nice response. I have 2 relatives and 3 friends dead/maimed on motorcycles (all NOT their fault, but that of reckless or unaware auto drivers) and 3 relatives and 12 friends dead/maimed while driving cars (some their fault, but in all cases incidents only involving 4 wheel vehicles).

Every time I hope hope on my bike I assume the risks and responsibilities of my sport (and having totaled 2 bikes, I know the risks), yet I don't hear most car drivers (save perhaps sports car enthusiasts) say the same (i.e., too many people hop behind without any serious forethought of "I'm driving a dangerous vehicle so I better remain alert").

I disagree, if anything it should be a precentage of the posted speed.

say you go 105 on a 55 mph freeway where traffic is normaly going 85... yea your going 20 mph faster than traffic so definatly speeding.. but that's probably far better than going 75 in a 25. It all comes down to the situation though.. say you go to a deserted industrial buisness area on a weekend to practice emergency braking and you get up to 75 in a 25 mph zone...

I think we have enough laws though 50 mph over in a residental zone with traffic about would probably get wreckless driving anyway.

Hell yes. Make it out of an old wing-tank.

But since I just got THE BIG TICKET for exhibition of speed, and speeding, I can't comment on this dang article...good thing my bicycles don't need a license. Have a feeling I'll be needing them in a few months.
