In the April 2006 issue of Motorcycle Consumer News, the 2006 GSX-R1000 did 0-60 in 2.35 seconds.

Gentlemen,

I know what ya'll are talking about, and while the fw190 was my favorite fatherland flyer, dond forget the Vought F4U, other than long range escort, the finest all around plane of the war.

Macchi MC202 Folgore, in Barracca squadron livery. More than a match for the Hurricanes and P-40s in the Mediterranean campaign. Beautiful plane.

(Trivia - Francesco Barracca was a WWI Italian ace whose personal emblem was a "cavellino rampante", or prancing horse. After the war, his widow was speaking to a young Italian auto racer and told him that he should put the cavellino rampante on his car for good luck. She was right - things worked out pretty well for young Enzo Ferrari.)

Re: What does it matter?

Sir,

Have you not seen a high spec Ducati, or an MV Agusta? Even an Confederate Hellcat is dang cool if that's what you are into.

Just because you spend too much does not make the Buggati cooler.

FW190, not a bad choice, I'd want the nose painted yellow. I know I'd be scared if I was flying around and saw one, back then.

For "reals" though (giggle, giggle) I'd have gone with the P-47 (or the F8F Bearcat), of the WWII "prop jobs". I remember a story, both perspectives of a FW 190, yellow nose, methodically emptying both machine guns and cannon into a disabled, but still flying, P-47. Over 100 cannon and machine gun rounds found their mark. The Pilot of the FW, in disbelief, pulled alongside and saluted. The P-47 got it's Pilot home. Also heard that it could power dive at (or beyond) supersonic. Tough plane.

Let me time your crossing in the path of my 8 "fifties" rounds...

Re: Which Bike Beats a Bugatti ?

Why do a 0-60? I don't think there is a street legal standard production bike that can beat a Bug in 0-60. Why not invite him to a drag strip and do a quarter mile instead? The race will take longer, making it much more fun. And if you are any good you should be able to beat him in the quarter mile on a standard ZX14.

I think a good ridden ZX14 would be able to hold the Bug off until 160 mph or so. After that the car will flat out smoke the bike as it does 0-186 in 16,8 seconds! (The ZX does 0-180 in around 18,9 by the way)

Or buy Rich Yancy's Busa and challenge him everywhere including top speed!

there you go! Thats the kind of data Ive had trouble finding. Except for 4.74 (or 4.88 depending on sourse) for the KLR 650 which is on the web everywhere for some reason. And obviously not a Bugatti beater on asphalt.

How about borrowing Jay Leno's jet bike; I'd bet he let you.

I'll see your P-47D and raise you one Blohm Voss 141. You'll get one look at my Kraut flying machine and turn-tail with a soiled parachute.
