The phrase "enough to embarass squids on sportbikes" is a bit over used. If you are embarassing someone on a liter sport bike with your Valkyrie, their riding skills are not something you should be real proud about beating. The Valkyrie was always an interesting bike, but I never considered it my best sporting option.

Valkeries were great bikes......I dont know anyone who rode one that didnt think so.

They still hold their value pretty well also......

Honda really missed the boat on a new Valk ...... Triumph has done well with the Rocket III . Honda SHOULD have made a 2 liter FI VTEC flat six power cruiser (140+ rwhp) and it would have been / still could be all the rage. They are unique , have a decent base following from the Wing and Valkerie already, and would be all new.

Style it right with a fat rear tire (250) and alot of chrome and price it around $15k and its a no brainer for Honda.

Hey I love the Valk, but you are dead on. I always get tickled when here how someones cruiser embarrassed the sportbikes. V-twin Cruisers can be strong off the the line but that's about the end of that story, and please don't tell how BA the V-rod is. LOL!

Default God spoke to me: V-4 is the future.

God told me V-4 is the chosen one.. Next comes the I-4, then Boxer 6 and twin . The V-Twin is the devils own. The V-4 is narrower than the I-4 and if a proper V angle is chosen it will have good balance.

Once again kpaul, the GMP, predicts and then it comes true.

Default Re: Someone clone Soichiro!

I've owned both and I don't like the heat of the V4's rear cylinders between my legs... especially in the summer. At any sort of rational speeds on public roads the narrower V4 is no advantage at all over an I-4. Plus, a V-4 engine weighs more.

Just because something is better for the one very limited venue of MotoGP racing doesn't automatically translate to better for street.

Default How dare you attack Gods holy motorcycle trinity

Say that to all those VFR owners.

VFR, Concours, and SV 650 are sacred.

Default Flathead = Old Tech

Why would anyone want a low tech flathead motor...

I never found the rear cylinders on my old Magna to be hotter than V2s I've ridden. In fact I think they were cooler than the Shadow 1100 I had.

Of course one doesn't sit on those two examples anything like a VFR or similar bike.
