The story didn't say whether the microchip was wearing a helmet.

My thoughts are with his family. I feel sorry for their loss.

Certified by Microsoft, willingly had an ID chip implanted, and rode motorcycles. Clearly not the genius he has been made out to be.

Smart does not necessarilyl equal intelligent. Too bad for the family. Hit a bump and was catapulted? How about he was riding beyond his abilities? Testosterone is still a big killer of young men no matter how much of a prodigy they might be. The laws of physics still apply.

Getting an MCSE at 12 and an engineering degree in 2 years is impressive. Obviously, raw intelligence does not necessarily translate into good motor coordination or judgement. Look at some of our presidents...Bill Clinton, IQ of 140 or so, George Bush is around 130, Lincoln was said to be around 150, TR was around 150, JFK, 118. I wonder how any of them would do on a bike. My vote would be on TR to do well, but he probably wouldn't wear a helmet.

Apparently he hadn't taken any classes on risk assessment yet. What a shame for society to lose someone with his potential.

If W is 130 then I, well, I don't know what but where you get your numbers? A course there can be disconnect betw. intelligence and common sense, but the Pres. seems to have Neither.

Issac Asimov was said to have an IQ of nearly 200.

He also believed that big govt socialism was a good idea and would likely have starved if he didn't have a wife to open cans for him.

Book learning doesn't confer wisdom. That comes from real life experience. This explains why so many batty ideas come from Universities. The cloistered and pampered life of tenure is a real incubator for kicked-in-the-head theories.
