The moron Libs can't even figure out if GWB is a complete idiot, or a criminal mastermind. They alternate between the two, when convenient, and in the process, make themselves look like.......well......moron Libs!

You bet. High intelligence does not equate with wisdom - they are not related. JFK was indeed of relatively low intelligence. He had lots of money and his family donated millions to Harvard, which was why he graduated from Harvard whereas a poor person would not have. JFK's actions with his PT boat would have gotten anyone else a court martial instead of a medal. Lyndon J. got a "silver star" (just below a Medal of Honor) for being a passenger in a plane that got shot at. At least JFK was doing something at the time his PT boat was sunk. George W. did better in school than Al G, and was smarter than Al. Look at how dumb Al Gore acts now - we picked the right guy (the best of two dummies).

Politicians are not as great as they tell us they are.

Clinton was a Rhodes scholar, which enabled him to dodge the draft. His last year as a "student", he did not go to any classes, but claimed he was enrolled in order to keep out of the military. In other words, he was in hiding.

If being a top politician equates to intelligence, then Hitler, Joe Stalin, Fidel, Kim Jung Il and Chairman Mao must have (or had) an IQ of at least 200. Then again, maybe they just had the best thugs and killers.

SATs are one thing (Bush's was pretty high), but what you do with it is another. If you have decided you know all you need to know about a subject, and dismiss anything that doesn't fit your belief system, you have a learning disability. That goes for all of us.

Pearl Jam has a song about W. "He was born on 3rd base, and thinks he hit a triple."

IQ tests for a specific kind of intelligence. Does not follow from IQ test that one will function well with motor skills, interpersonal skills, application skills, common sense, etc.

As far as politician IQ's, who cares. What on earth would it be a predictor of??? Who cares if the pol can solve simultaneous definite integrals in his/her head if they ain't got common sense enought to know when or when not to do a deal???

Seruw was "rat on" re Asimov. In fact, most of the great Sci-Fi writers of the Golden Age were (and are) hard left....Heinlein being an exception. And he was a hard, hard lefty in the Calif. political scene back in the 30's after he was discharged from the Navy for health problems...

Nahh, intelligence is very hard to measure in a global sense.

I too was a draftdodger. I just wasn't sucessful. Probably 3/4 ths of the Army at that time were draftees, and none of us wanted to be there. I tried to avoid it by joining the National Guard, but they just laughed and said the waiting list was at least a year long, unless you, like, knew somebody. Then, you got in right away. We Army regulars, whether draftees or joiners, really hated the Reservists in those days, because they tended to be richer and from more privledged backgrounds than us. We can carp about what Kennedy or Johnson or Jimmy Stuart or Ted Williams did in WW2, but THEY SHOWED UP. Nowadays, I think there is only one member of congress who has a kid in the military. Makes it a lot easier to go to war if you're talking about someone else's kid doing the heavy lifting. Bring back the draft.
