I dunno...50K isn't much to live on in this day and age. 15 million a year to read the news is sick....

Dang. The article I read said that Ryan was a Dem. Oh well, no difference really. 6 of one or half dozen of the other.

You guys in Chicago really show us the way. Isn't Chicago where they coined the phrase "Vote Early and Vote Often"?

I apologise if I've ever been hard on you. Anyone who has to read govt position papers has my complete sympathy. You are hereby allowed an unlimited quota of brain farts.

It's also wise to lock up the guns to avoid any inadvertant suicidal impulses.

CDG: So, you're "delighted to ride with someone who's had up to say 4 or 5 drinks". This is the most incredibly stupid admission I've heard, perhaps ever! But, thanx, you've proven my point - folks you associate with voluntarilly DUI and threaten other motorcyclists and you sit next to them and watch. But, of course, you "refuse to drink and drive" yourself and expect rational readers to buy this drivel. Mindless!

Yes they did coin that phrase. They had a Chicago School Union election and they had to nullify it because they had more votes cast than they had members. That's why JB cracks me up with he 'honest Democrat' bullshyt.

Actually, I'd rather someone *ELSE* learned from Billy Lane's mistake, rather than just himself.

This has all happened before, and it's going to happen again.

I've noticed on several blogs already (scroogle the subject line - you'll come across a few), that there are comments to the effect of "The Police say that Billy was possibly driving under the influence when he struck the Motorcyclist - I refuse to believe that."

WTF? Refuse to believe that Billy Lane might have had a few drinks, got in his truck, decided the cars in front of him were going too slowly, then made a serious error in judgement by crossing a double-yellow and collided with someone on a two-wheeled motorised vehicle?

*WHY* I ask, is this so hard to believe? It's like reading about Big Ben all over again (or for that matter, OJ - or any number of celebrities/semi-celebs).

Mike Seate called Ben's situation like he saw it, and people slagged him, calling him everything *including* a White Man.

Is Billy such a "Choppa' God", that he can do no wrong? If he does make a mistake, do the laws of existence happen to morph and change around him, thereby rendering any errors exactly the opposite?

In response to your last question, there are two answers to follow in sequence:

1. Money

2. Lawyers

Any more questions?

This was on AIA so no ditches.

Depending on where it was there might have been little to no shoulder just a curb if and poles if you are lucky or parked cars if not.

It is a very tight road on the best of days.

What it comes down to is someone in a cage killed someone on a bike and did it while breaking the law.

The fact the he was made a bunch of money and has gotten a bunch of fame building choppers makes it all the worse. He just shows that motorcyclists are irresponsible even when they drive a car.

He has done a great deal of damage to us all.

It seems it's yet to be written if he will swing or walk. Although he's a "semi-celebrity", it is not a foregone conclusion that he;

a) Has enough money to get himself out of this mess unscathed.

b) Has enough popularity, for when the money runs out.

Also - Johnny Cochrain is dead now................
