No, it means he has to somehow deal with a lot of boilermakers. Later he moves on to depth charges. Well, you know how it goes.

I happened to be in this situation with a motor officer behind me. We waited for one cycle and then proceeded through the intersection when it was clear. This is what the officer recommented. This is in Fremont CA.

Dealing with boilermakers is fine, it's explaining to engineers why putting rubber expansion joints in water lines over 4800 volt breakers isn't a good idea that gets entertaining.....

I wait a little while then go through them. I suppose you could argue that by failing to recognize a legally licensed vehicle the light was defective...

What they're doing here is putting in intersection cameras to catch red light runners, I'm not sure if you could use that as proof you waited or not.

That was going to be one of my suggestions - a written complaint to the DOT in charge of the light, asking them to turn up the gain on the pavement sensor loop.

So far as the "camera sensor" lights, putting on your highbeam, and stopping slightly "askew" at the intersection can help. If you "make yourself look bigger than you are" to the camera, it will trigger.

The camera is "looking" for something the size of a car's profile - all it sees is a 2-dimensional grid, with certain areas set up as "trigger areas".

I have a security-camera setup at work with similar software for recording when nobody is there to monitor it. Simple to get within 80% accuracy, hard as hell for that last 20%.

No, but he might be responsible for the cup holder that catches the lead in the rubber expansion joint.
