Default Re: Helmet to Helmet Communication?

I have the autocom and it is very very good. I have used it on some very long trips and communicated with another rider back and forth the whole way. You can answer calls on your cell phone listen to music, talk to a passenger and a rider all at the same time. The only problem I have is the speakers really hurt my ears. I can't find a good way to mount them in my Arai, but I also have very big ears. If it wasn't for the ear pain I would leave it in all the time.

I find that flipping-up your visor, turning your head, and screaming at the top of your fool lungs works fairly well.

Until you crash. You shouldn't communicate like this in corners.

Or at Elevated Speed.

Or while in motion.

Or...........

No one has mentioned Baehr systems. May be a little pricier than you want but reviews are great.

I've read some place that wireless "Chatter Box" type systems simply do not work as expected.

I love my Autocom as well. Gets pretty price when fully decked out but I was fortunate to get the last generation for half price. Works as advertised, I have not one complaint. No ear problem here either, I probably could use the spacer pads to get them closer to my ears. The speakers fit perfect in my Aria Quantam F.

I can also recommend the HJC Tandem unit. I've had one for several years and never had a problem. The intercom works great, the added bonus is the audio unput. When I'm solo I use it with my MP3 player. MP3 fits in a jacket pocket and I get a full days ride with a single charge.

Check out the Platinum 900 at www.collett.mb.ca. My buddies and I have been using them for the last two years and they work great.

I use the motorola HS830 bluetooth headset on each helmet, just go cellphone to cellphone since we have unlimited minutes between us. It was only 99 bucks but you have to have a bluetooth cellphone to use it. Sound is great at any speed.
