I'm a sucker for funky looking bikes, but have Bimotas ALWAYS been north of $35 grand?

No. You could get a pretty trick SB8K with the TL1000 motor for mid $20s. I had a Bimota Mantra with a 904 ducati motor that I purchased from a dealer for $10k w/ a sticker of $18,700. Some buyer put it on consignment with 14 miles on it.

"Had"? What happened to it and was it enjoyable?

I traded it straight across for a new BMW GS. I couldn't pass up that kind of moto barter. Very nice workmanship. It really is true when you hear about being able to sit in the garage and look at the detail of a bimota. Random little pieces of metal on most bikes are billet jewlery on the bimotas.

Anyway, 378 lbs with a torquey aircooled duc motor It sold on Craigs List to a collector in Boston a couple of months ago. And now my old 1993 Ducati 907ie is on Craigs. Unbelievable.

Well, heck, if you are going to charge $40large for custom m/c chassis with duck engines at least you should use the freaking 4 valve watercooled one!

What is more expensive for 40 or 50 large a hot italian bike with great looks and awesome looks or a custom chopper that is almost unrideable?

Well, that depends. What are their respective KPPI numbers?

I'd want to see some magazine road tests and MSF numbers on potential riders before I'd spend that kinda money

Is this the same Scuderia that imported Huskys back in the 70's? Used a motorcycle wheel as an insignia.

Scuderia West is "Number One dealer in the Nation for one of ItalyÂ’s largest brands in motorcycling"

Largest brands huh. I understand there are a number of small Boutique Manufacturers in Italy, but I'd like to see the sales numbers on Bimota to see how they compare to the sales for numbers one through three.

They are quite nice, just not sure about calling them one of the biggest brands in Italy.
