Default Other than not wearing a helmet? That covers it

I've had that accident - I'm guessing he'll recover fully, plus new scars. Just don't ask us to have sympathy for a rich fool who has that accident minus the helmet. If he were more seriously hurt, I'd feel bad. But I had the same g-d thing happen, wearing Power Ranger gear, and I pulled a minor concussion and a broken jaw. Big Ben can apply for sympathy from Steelers fans and bigdx. They're both notoriously sympathetic.

Broke his nose and his jaw. No two accidents are the same, however I bet a decent helmet might have prevented that. I am just very surprised that for a guy who is paid a lot of money to play football, he was not a little more thoughtful in how he rode. Yes, the accident was not his fault, but what rider does not realize a lot of bad things happen that are not their fault. I was always taught to be prepared for what might happen.

Anyway, does he not know that he is in a sport that uses up and tosses out the banged up guys. He is only worth millions of dollars a year if he is in shape and can play. He is a commodity, and if he gets hurt badly enough, that's it. I wonder if he wears a seatbelt when he is in his car, or if he does not feel free enough with one on?

I'm betting he makes it in for training camp.

ESPN was saying that it seemed that the broken jaw and nose were the items that would take the longest to heal with an estimation of 7-8 weeks.

I'm a Miami fan...so I'm not exactly rooting for a strong Steelers team.

The car had Maine plates. Probably a Pats fan.

Alright, simmer down now.

Do you think the Pat's fixed the running back issue? Dillion was looking a bit old last year. Might have been injuries, though.

I think he might have avoided all the jaw, teeth and head injuries with a full-face helmet. With the airflow vents they have nowdays I cant imagine not wearing one. I even wear a racing collar out of habit. Wish there was some kind of kevlar spine pad you could wear in hot weather, short of a padded jacket. Basically, you want to save your head, neck and spine in that order and other parts if weather permits wearing the gear.
