Noise was a metphor. It's getting increasingly difficult to see the good from the crap in the motorcycle market. Yes, my bike is kinda loud and I like it that way.

P.S. It's a sporbike and it's a v-twin and it sounds much nicer than any Harley I've heard lately.

Many of you folks sound like the hot rodders of the 80's; oooh, computers, catalytic converters, doom and gloom. There is nothing unreasonable about having NEW bikes meet more stringent emissions standards. In case some of your dinosaurs havenÂ’t been out of your cave, air pollution is a serious health and environmental danger and that's the science, not my opinion. I am sure if Ford can make a 400+HP GT500 and comply with the applicable emissions standards, motorcycle manufacturers can...HD, will of course need a special 3 year compliance extension so they can figure it all out... So you want a custom? Get an "old" (pre-enactment of the law) bike and build it yourself or hire it done as is your choice.

No problem, I do not take comments on board to heart.

What does the "VWW" stand for?

"I am sure if Ford can make a 400+HP GT500 and comply with the applicable emissions standards, motorcycle manufacturers can"

Sure a company with 300 000 employees, 108 plants based over 6 continents and annual sales (2005) of $177,089 million can easily afford the R&D and testing to get their products EPA compliant. A small custom shop with annual sales of maybe $0.25 million cannot. Do you see the difference or do I need to draw a picture?

"HD, will of course need a special 3 year compliance extension so they can figure it all outÂ…"

All HD bikes are in compliance already.

"air pollution is a serious health and environmental danger"

Try breath less of this polluted air; clearly it has affected your cognitive abilities.

Here's a question for you:

If Ford can make a 400+HP GT500, think of what this same engine would be like -without- your beloved emissions standards?

Naah. You'd rather make comments about the sex habits of other people's wives.
