I hear the same about the BMW cars from a service tech in Marin.

I'm surprised that there hasn't been a Buell Ulysses or XB9/12 push yet.

Seems like the question here ought to be what kind of riding do you want to do that the Daytona limits you. Seems like your choices are sport touring, touring, cruiser, and dual sporting.

If you think about what you like to do when you ride, the right machine will become a bit clearer. If you often ride by a gravel road, and wonder what's up it, go for the dual sport. If you wish you and wife could take off for a weekend or a week, you're in the sport touring or tourer zone. Etc. etc.

Of course I've got six bikes, so I'm better at giving advice than taking it.

I just couldn't pass on the Daytona when it came along. I think the problem is the power is overkill for general use. I spend most of my time on Hwy1 and in the hills around Napa with the odd trip thrown in. The multistrada was almost perfect, maybe an st3(?)

I've got a cherry ST4 sitting in the garage. I'm considering a new Sport Classic so maybe we can talk turkey.

How about a Buell Ulysses or an XB9/12?

Well judging from the ***** poor selection of the new bikes that you have, you´d need a real one as the back up. I recommend a second hand Valk.
