"I was there."

Shocking.

That's empirical proof you're an idiot.

"Nobody expects the NASCAR Christian retarded hicks to vote their best interests anymore anyway"

...as defined by us, their socially and intellectually superior betters.

Yep, keep up that attitude.

Don't forget how successful the Demo tactic is of using Alkie Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy as a paragon of morality and ex-KKK Grand Wazoo Robert Byrd as "The Conscience of the Senate".

When you factor in having the most pyschotic marxist idiot you can find as Minority Leader of the House (Pelosi) you have a winning combination that will sweep the 2006 elections........NOT!

So by your definition, a historically-"blue" state where about six out of ten people are liberal is a "blue" monolith, while a historically-"red" state where about six out of ten people are conservative is a "red" monolith.

Uh-huh. Six out of ten people. Go into a bar with 100 people in it, 60 out of the 100 are liberals, ipso facto, it's categorized as a "liberal" establishment. And vice versa. Yeah, you're right, it really is that simple.

"Bush's war only costs about 1.5% of the federal budget"

1.5% of the FY2005 Federal Budget of $2.4 trillion dollars would be roughly $36 billion dollars.

The current "bleed" rate for our Middle East adventure is about $5 billion a week.

Default Cannon fodder.....

The United States is actually aÂ*Republic - butÂ*this is aÂ*veryÂ*interesting point!

How Long Do We Have? Or rather historically how long do "Rupublics" generally last?

About the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University ofÂ*Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. Â*From bondage to spiritual faith;

2. Â*From spiritual faith to great courage;

3. Â*From courage to liberty;

4. Â*From liberty to abundance;

5. Â*From abundance to complacency;

6. Â*From complacency to apathy;

7. Â*From apathy to dependence;

8. Â*From dependence back into bondage "

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St.Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million; Â*Bush: 143 million;

Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000; Bush: 2,427,000

States won by: Gore: 19 Bush: 29

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore: 13.2 Bush: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the tax-paying citizens of this great country. Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off government welfare..."

Olson believes theUnited States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some 40 percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom, is the first step towards saving our freedom.

btw "Apathy" seems to be rare among MOridians. Most of us seem to be more than aware of what is going on in our world. Kudos for that.
