I had the LBC50 model, which is also made by SunL. I had nothing but problems with it from the beginning. I got rid of that hunk of crap and bought a Yamaha . . .

Don't sell the Chinese short is my advice. One of the old time anthropologist's studying the Eskimos reported, way back in the 40s, that his outboard motor klonked out. He was clueless, but one of the Eskimos looked things over and knew right away how to fix it, even though he'd never seen anything more advanced than a sinew wrapped snowshoe. Well, the Eskimos are kin to the Chinese and other orientals. They'll rule the world someday, I say.

Maybe you can ask an Eskimo how to get that boat in your garage.

The neighbors are starting to get pi$$ed.

Default Minor?

Hyosung has a production capacity of 200,000 units and has been building motorcycles for almost 30 years. That's minor? 200,000 units is more than BMW, Ducati and Triumph's combined world sales figures.

Here's some info from their Australian website:

"Hyosung is one of the largest and most respected companies in South Korea, and was founded in 1952. Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc was established in 1978 as a motorcycle manufacturer. In 1979 a technical tie up was established with Suzuki Motor Corp of Japan for producing Suzuki models for some Asian markets. Hyosung established its own R&D centre in 1986 to develop models under the Hyosung brand for export to global markets under the banner "Made by Hyosung, Ridden by The World". 12% of staff are engaged in R&D to keep pace with aggressive development of new models suitable for export markets. Hyosung produce some models that carry a Japanese brand name that are exported worldwide, and components produced by Hyosung can be found on several other brands of motorcycles.

FACTS IN BRIEF

Hyosung Motors & Machinery:-

* Are equipped with an annual production capacity in excess of 200,000 motorcycles

* Have ISO9001 certification from TUV in Germany

* Export to over 60 countries world wide including Germany, Brazil, China, the U.S.A. and most recently Australia "

You'd be amazed how much info you can find out by spending 15 seconds on Google. Depending on the condition of your sphincter, it can actually be faster than pulling stuff out of your a$$.

That 2' 1" Bore x 2' Stroke means this thing should be called the "Super Sport 36,000" It's a shame that a 36 liter engine can only make 16hp. -Sean

Don't badmouth Mainland Chinese manufacturing alltogether. My family's assembly lines make some pretty good quality gear (CD laser bits). Some of the best-- and worst-- manufacturing quality comes out of the Mainland. If the quality's bad, blame it on the importer who got the wool pulled over his eyes.

Anyway, dodgy little tin can bikes are great fun. You can ride them a couple of thousand of kilometres, then toss 'em. Sounds like a great ride~

Hyosungs are pretty good bikes. I thrashed one-- a GV250-- to the ground over about 30'000km over two years. Good for touring with two people plus luggage. Great for scraping floorboards on the way to work in the morning.
