Default Amen

You forget that we here in America have this holier than thou crap going on. Killing people and letting them starve is OK, and kids too as long as they're just "collateral" damage. Heaven forbid that someone should "tempt" us into thoughts of fornication by flashing a tit though--go straight to hell, do not pass purgatory!

I worship Hypocracy (just like everybody else).

Let's see, we got 2,300 dead Americans as a result of Iraq, gas prices and usage are through the roof, utility bills are bouncing off the rev limiter, we may be on the verge of a flu pandemic, chronic wasting disease is eating the brains of cows and deer, and these folks can find the time to worry about seeing a naked person? "I've got too much time on my hands..."

Default Fair Enough.

And a more sucinct way of saying what I was trying to get at. Though I feel compelled to observe that contemporary Europe may be fairly considered a den of moral decadence and cultural decline; thus, following Europe's lead or having final reference to Europe for our own moral, cultural, or social norms may not be the wisest course of action. Our own assertion of independence from a Europaen power was at least partly about our right to refer to moral standards more appropriate to our geo-historical context.

Lastly, as to your claim that this isn't a Big "S" stand: the folks in that town apparently disagree with you, as does much of heartland American sentiment (for better or worse). And it's indicative of what I meant to say; that foundational, base-level thought about the high dignity befitting the human person is falling by the wayside in this country (following Europe), because such thought must ultimately make reference to some authority higher than Man, which is terribly inconvenient. But ideologies (political in particular) ascend no higher than Man himself in their considerations, and are thus in our "comfort zone" as far as what we ought to be part of public discourse.

I found it interesting that you brought up the objection to the incantation of the Pledge of Allegiance due to the mention of God. I personally object to my son having to recite it because it was written by an avowed socialist for the purpose of engendering the masses to accept the rationale for a stronger federal government. The mention of God wasn't included until 1953 by some posturing congressmen.

Europe is a "den of decadence"??? Hmm. Lets think about this. As crazy he sounds maybe Señor Aerohead is onto something here. But what could he possibly mean?

It couldn´t be crimes, murders, rapes, drugs, teenage pregnancies, infant mortality, war mongering, death penalties or any other conventional criteria for "decadence".

Maybe its the easy virtue of our women. Also they are not so fat (which increases people´s willingness do do a bit of decadence) but then on the other hand they don´t use so much make-up or shave their legs. Plus our governments tax the fuel to $6 a gallon forcing everybody to drive around in silly little French minicars looking like complete pricks. Is that decent?

Hard to say but I suggest Aerohead will clarify the "den of decadence" claim. And I recommend him to watch some travelling programs about Europe first before making any out-of-character uneducated comments.

Maybe the neighbors are pissed they weren't invited, because they don't own motorcycles. I think an exception should be made for them. You could have a special car park set aside and a playground for the kids while their parents are boozing it up and oggling the wet t-shirts. Then, everyone would be happy!

Amen!

For perspective that's:

Bad guys: 3000+

Good Guys (that would be us) 2300 +

Hey, we're catching up! The same type folks who are up in arms over this rally need to keep voting. This way we'll be sure to kill more of our own than any terrorists!

your post begs the question: "in what way is your head aerodynamic?" i suspect it is pin-shaped.

feel free to spout the neocon party line in public all you want, but it would have been much more impressive if you'd had a single original thought.
