That's a very good question. You are not impeding them in any way but they just can't stand anyone going faster than there own chosen speed. I have gotten into the habit of putting some distance between me and the passee, just in case.

That's how I took it also and so my original question. Seems to me using both brakes would have at least minimized the impact. Having said that, I hope the arsole never sees the light of day again. Faint hope.

On California's highway one, and some other pretty good roads, there are sometimes double yellow line on straight stretches a mile long. Two semis, hauling cement blocks, might have trouble executing a pass, but even a VW bus could get by someone on a stretch like that. In Oregon, they don't seem to let the lowest common denominator rule the day, and people just have to use their discretion, as it should be. Sometimes the only sensible thing to do, when confronted with an idiotic rule, is to ignore it.

Default Ouch!

You hit close to home. I must admit I let my 6-year AMA membership lapse when I was roadracing AHRMA because I felt AMA wasn't doing enough to protect and promote amatuer roadracing. I also don't like a motorcycle organization that focuses on repealing helmet laws.

I should give them a second look, though. You are correct: there's nothing better.

While the AMA's stnce on helmet laws is known, I haven't read much about helmet laws in their magazine for quite some time. I can only assume that helmet laws are not priority number one.

Ride a motorcycle, dont ever pass on double yellow lines? "F" off and drive a cage.

Cagers: you are not allowed to kill anyone, unless it is self defence.

Cager vs bike is never self defence. It dosent take much for a cager to kill a biker(murder!!!!).

I dont know who did what but I noticed the maximum the SUV guy could get is 11 years for vehicular homicide. Thats just peachy compared to the 100 years he might get if caught with one gram too much marijuana. Seems we've gotten our priorities a little mixed up.

It's nice to have a modern Sportbike. Once you pass a cager you can make them disappear no matter what they do.

He's going to wish he had one gram of marijuana (in jail).
