Default A better name would be

...for a number of reasons. (How do you see over the hump?)

Hey, if you're going to build a scooter--or maxi-scooter--call it that.

All the other problems with this abomination aside, there is one core problem with automatic transmissions on motorcycles appealing to a wide range of people: People who want "scooters" generally don't want "motorcycles" and vice versa.

The sort of people who are generally interested in motorcycles don't want their shifting done for them (semi-auto, maybe) and tend to be a bit more adventurous. People who usually stick to scooters are intimidated by things that start to look like motorcycles. In most cases it's basically a case of two distinct personalities. Sure, you'll sell a few, but probably not nearly enough to make the whole thing worthwhile. Most of these CVT scootercycles will probably never make to production in any form. The ones that do will probably not find a very big audience.

Maybe they're more exciting than the Hondamatic, but not much.

The good news is that there might be a sportbike/naked/standard hiding under there. I've heard whispers for a couple of years now that Victory might be building some sportier bikes in the future (if you're into that sort of thing.)

Those exhaust pipes look just like the ones on my dad's Polaris Sportsman 800 atv. There's no mention of it in the article, but I'm thinking its probably the same 800 twin.

Default Decepticon or Autobot

Either way, transforming into a Zamboni is odd...

Default It's not a scooter

A few of youse guys have been wrongly calling it a scooter. It has to be a step-through design in order to qualify as a scooter. It's an abomination but definitely not a scooter.

What's with the humongous (250mm) rear tire? I'm sure the 800cc twin doesn't need all that width.

Default Re: Ugly is as Ugly does, OR, give the people (fools) what they want

When we V-Strom riders start saying it's fugly.....

Look at the pics -- the Victory staff can barely keep a straight face. This has to be some kind of joke.

To me it looks like a stapler. Paint it red and put Swingline on the tank. Then banish it to the basement with its designer. Where are those TPS reports????
