Default A Problem...

I don't think they made the V65 in 1989. The newest one you can buy is a 1985 and the KBB suggested retail is $2165. I think you should be very careful about buying a bike this old sight-unseen.

Also, these early V-Fours had problems with pitting on the cam faces, although maybe not on the 1100s.

I've ridden a V65 Sabre, years ago...I remember it being a smooth and comfortable bike that inspired weepy-eyed sentimentality from its owner.

An aside, the owner in question was dating Christine Pelosi, daughter of House minority leader Nancy Pelosi (be nice, she's a friend of my family's!) Just thought I'd do a little name dropping...

Please tell us you haven't purchased this bike "sight unseen".

I lust after a V65 Sabre . Good choice . See Sabmag and its links for all the info you'll need regarding oil circulation probs , it's do-able . That's about 135 horsepower of early superbike you just bought , and it's also a 100,000 mile bike for a FRACTION of the cost of a hardley retardson

I seem to have lost my comment somewhere in cyberspace . You have wisely purchased a 100,000 mile eighties superbike for a fraction of the cost of a hardley retardson . See Sabmag for all the info you'll need regarding oil circulation problems .

I have at least 5 e-mails from various Nigerian functionaries telling me they want to give me lots of money. If I tally them all up, it looks like I am the happy recipient of about $300 million. I have sent all of them my bank account information and I am sure they will transfer the money to me any day now. I can hardly wait to get my next bank statement. I'm hoping someone will sell me a nice 1990 model V65 once the cash arrives.
