Yeah, last June MO did a complete overhaul of the website. When they transferred the old forum to the new format there were some thread casualties. It seemed to be primarily because the old forum was a very outdated setup.

Yeah, a topic from '05, right after I got my City X. I told myself it would be the last new bike I would ever buy (being that Sportster stuff had been around for as long as I have). I was right, unfortunately. Wonder what ever happened to that kid on the new gixxer thou in shorts and a tank top? Hope he's still ridin'.

I've always steered away from thinking the last this or the last that.. just seems like bad Karma.

Lifes funny though, it never turns out how you planned. Sometimes things work out way beyond your imagination and sometimes your just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Doesn't seem to be any rhymme nor reason to it good people get f*cked and a-holes just seem to keep right on going..I guess we have to believe there's some kind of justice or retribution at some point.

Sounds like a good program.

I believe that more than speed, it is lack of experience and skill that kills people.

There are unfortunately many idiots out there who just want to show off.
...your ego always believes it knows so much better than you actually do.
If you really want to test yourself and your speed, go to a track, and check with the clock!

Todays "I can save my own life" was to counse. myself to stop leaning and PUSH THE ****IN BARS AND STOP LEANING STUPID. The double yellow was very slippery in the rain. I was distracted thinking of the money that I'd saved. I achieved 'Stitch crotch with much cheaper equipment. Playing tag o rama is fun this time of year. Gotta go and put the tag on the other side of the state, see ya

yea back in hi school I taught some 4 guys how to ride ...
I let them use my dirt bike then ....then they wanted to ride my street bike.....
350 yam RD (it was two cycle 350)(I could out do
a honda cb 750-4 to about 60) anyway guys were A types
it took them 3 months to get good on the rockets they bought..
then in 6 months they all had crashed hard, one didnt make it
its more than speed its a understanding of your limits ...its having made a
few mistakes that were done at nonlethal moments in time , and a bit of maturity to not take everything
personally .....I learned that last part (again) just lately ...
a young woman did the "pull out right in front of ya" me after a stop. I was close
and assumed she saw me ...
(my bad) ...after nearly colliding I circled around to yell at her a bit ....
she instantly broke in to tears said she was very sorry for not seeing me
and seemed quite frightened by me (I felt bad now ).....the point...
I was within 5 mph of posted speed and almost got decimated
its not speed... its a whole slew of mindful, conscious, choices and
a learned behavior of defensive driving.. the last of which I forgot
when I assumed she saw me....never do that...

You can be she notices motos more while driving now. Did her some good to be shook-up a bit. Would probably do us ALL good.
