"The argument of all bikes are more dangerous than cars isn't a be all and end all, as presumably driving cars is much more dangerous than if we all were to ride bicycles"

You are wrong on that. Bicycles are MUCH more dangerous. So you "presumed" wrong.

"Where do we end....perhaps we should all crawl"

No, we should do what the hell we want to do. YOU crawl if you want, I'll do what I want. That is what "freedom" is based on. As long as I don't interfere with you, or put you in danger, then what gives YOU that right to tell ME what to do?? Nothing.

" Do you drive on the wrong side of the road...stop at stop signs...speed all the time... "

Obviously you can't see the difference between protecting the public and protecting the individual.

"sharp increase"?!?!

Maybe it's not due to lack of helmet use, but to increased speed. And speed is related to displacment, so I advocate for banning bikes over 1.5L engine capacity. That's simple enough for the legislators.

Now, where'd I park my GSXR?

Thank you for the advice, I have read my policy carefully. I read any contract that costs me money, to ensure I know exactly what I'm paying for. My work policy is also the same way, as long as there isn't gross negligence on my part in causing the injury (and the bosses decide to pursue that line of investigation, usually they don't) then I'm fully covered. To settle any doubts, I can also site many examples that I would have considered negligence that were still cared for.

On your question of sustaining life, all I can say is that I have a living will that says to pull the plug on me if that was to happen. That should make my stance clear. Again, if the family of the individual chooses to continue running up debt, it becomes their burden to pay back.

I'm sorry that you find my view so disgusting, I can't say that I think so highly of the view that the money I've worked hard to earn should be given away so freely. If you read my last post, I stated "While the tax payers might have to pick up the initial bill, I think it should be consider more of a loan than hand-out." So, no, I don't think you should unplug them, roll them into the street, and leave them on the curb because they only have a $20 in their pocket. Take care of them, yes, but I'm not in to giving money away so they can feel secure about being less safe.

And yes, I was clearly understating things but my couple years comment. But lets use your example: With a 5%APR paying $350 a month, that can be paid off within 9 years. That's if we go the low-interest method, I already said I would find interest free acceptable, knocking about 6 months off. I wouldnÂ’t complain about considering a mortgage style loan either, 10 to 20 years to payoff the state.

IÂ’ll ignore the red-state comments because IÂ’m not going to turn this into a political rant. As IÂ’ve said, I donÂ’t hold allegiance to either party, and I could go a long way to verbally bashing both. I just donÂ’t see the need.

"This isn't just about health care costs." You're right. Its about freedom from unconstituional government intrusion into areas that it does not belong. VWW

Yes is is stupid to not mitigate danger of riding by wearing a helmet. It is even more stupid to grant any government the power to control every facet of your life. VWW
