Even what are considered "learners" bikes today are probably too much motorcycle for the neophyte. I remember dreaming of owning a CB160 so I could travel on the freeways with cars. Like many riders of our age I started riding home made minibikes, Honda 55 trail bikes, and the like. When I was a senior in high school my old 441 BSA single was the fastest bike at the school. Hell if I would have had an EX500 then I would have had the fastest bike in the county, and that was Los Angeles County! VWW

You are so right, it is all Harley's fault, if only everyone would ride rice crotch rockets there would be no motorcycle accidents.

Oh........ that must have been a fake body under the white sheet on 1-25 and Sante Fe a couple of months ago in Denver with a bunch of brightly colored plastic from the GSXR-1000 mangled against the guard rail littering the highway.

Before your 441 could be the fastest bike at the school it would also have to be actually at the school at some point in time.

You don't fool me. You mean it was the fastest bike that almost made it to school.

My uncle had one of the BSA 250 Starfires that the 441 used for the engine bottom end. A pretty nice bike actually, for a Britbike, and even it had tranny problems. I shudder to think what that 441cc top end was doing to the bottom marginally designed for a 250.

Let's just say that I became an expert at replacing the transmission lay shaft, and leave it at that. VWW

Better re-read my missive, and Longrides and Jungvests....

We all learned our trade on the Superior Rodent!!

What more proof do you need that we do in fact posess superior skills, and I for one have a tank bag full of road tests and dyno-charts to prove it.

Not only that but I have a picture of me sitting on a motorcycle that's going pretty fast I tell ya'

You better go back to sawing 2" pipe into chunks and waiting for the Nato troops from Canada.

What makes you think we don't wear full faced helmets, bonehead?

Christ you're a trial, I've got riding gloves with more miles on them, on more different bikes than you've even seen, and you're telling us what to do?

That's 50,000 Chinese troops in Montana. That's a real man's conspiracy! None of those pansy effeminate Nato flower children for us!

Although, why anyone would want to invade Utah.....
