First post!

If this is the new VMax the old Max will have it beat to hell as far as HP and performance goes...

Default We Agree? Yikes!

Gotta agree if that is the new VMax, I will stick with my old one. The Max still kicks ass after 20 years.

Ahhhhh...there's the love

I have a friend with a twentieth Anniversary VMax. It's a beautiful bike and still The king Beast when it comes to wrist stretching performance. Yamaha must have just got tired of building it after twenty years because it's still head and shoulders above most so called 'power cruisers" of today...

Default Isn't this the bike that only has 80HP at the back tire?

Not really going to set the world on fire with the especially if it weights over 500 lbs.

Default Harley should have built the Vrod

Without a water cooled engine in the stable, Harley would be in deep *&(&#@ when the EPA closes the door on the air cooled wonders.

The biggest improvements in the past twenty years have come in the areas of frame and suspension design, and that's where the newer power cruisers have the advantage. They knew very well how to make horsepower back in '84.

I have ridden a Max and it's something every self respecting biker should do once. I have also ridden the VTX 1800 and it's a very different experience. If the MT01 has anywhere near the torque of the phat honda then it will be a bloody marvel. The max would make your eyelids flip back over your head but the honda would snap your neck. Two very different kinds of experience. Of course the honda was simply frightening trying to corner at moderate velocities.

While the MT-01 may not be a Harley, Yamaha is jumping hip deep into the same market of overpriced lifestyle accessories, perfect for those who think the "passion" of motorcycling is best expressed by an MT-branded money clip worn in harmony with an MT-branded watch.
