I find the whole election process distasteful. DonÂ’t know why; youÂ’d think watching a bunch of Bonus-Babies scratching, clawing and saying things that would seem absurd in a Marx Bros. Movie would be fun, but itÂ’s not; especially when you consider that these Bozos are going to be the leaders of the most powerful nation on Earth. Sorta makes you wonder why we donÂ’t just put them on a tightrope, alÂ’a Jonathan Swift, and see which one can bounce the highest. That way, if weÂ’re lucky, some of them might maim themselves enough so they canÂ’t continue in Public Office. Trouble is; one of them would end up falling on their head, suffer brain damage (what there is to damage) and would probably be chosen out of sympathy.

BTWÂ…WhatÂ’s the topic?

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'll head down there in the morning.

I like the BMW set-up with the spokes going to the outside of the rim. Some Tiger fans are pretty up-set because cast wheels aren't as good as spokes and rims offroad. Also Triumph shortened the suspension travel this (or last) year so the bike is more capable on-road, but a little less capable off-road.

Since the only off-roading I'd be doing is logging and F.S. roads it's no biggie for me.

It may be a valid critisim to a point, but the underlying facts are that you didn't plan on going in the first place, as the US did in Moscow, so your saying that your not going because of Wank-off is a red herring.

Even if Wanker would have never hit Randy Scott, or was thrown in prison for life over it, you still wouldn't have gone. If the USSR hadn't have invaded Afganistan in 1979, the US would have attended the Moscow Olympics in 1980.

Participating in the Olympics is a matter of national honor and prestige to a great many countries, the Soviet Union in particular. Carters decision not to participate was a clear message of US displeasure at Soviet actions, and was viewed as such world wide.

You saying "I'm not going to Sturgis because of Yanklow" on an website where most people know you weren't going in the first place, is mere grandstanding.

I may be alone in this opinion, but by no stretch of the imagination is a 500+ lb bike an offroader. Not no way, not no how.

I'd bet that a Bandit12, or even a Sportster, with a more agressive set of tires and wider handlebars would be just as good as the other high weight Adventure Tourers.

Heck, a Bonneville set up that way, being lighter, might be an even better Adventure Tourer.

I can report, from personal experiance that Bandits and Sportsters can both handle a little offroading, as can my Trophy..snow too. Of course a KLR or DZ is what you need for a real duel sport, or a two wheel drive Ural sidecar rig.

Adventure-tourers are to offroading like a Tahoe or an Expedition...ok on gravel roads, but leave the real stuff to the Jeeps and ratty old Broncos and Blazers. For maintained gravel roads I think they're ok, that's the only place I'd take one.

#1: Martha Stewart was not convicted of any securities violations. Those charges were dropped for lack of evidence. She was convicted of lying to federal investigators, who apparently have the power of judges now to compel people to talk to them. One need not be in court to be convicted of lying anymore. Just speaking to a federal employee is the equivalent of taking a de facto sworn oath. Having said all that, her "lies" are only in the eye of the beholder and Martha did not do anything that should be considered a crime. Only because there are now idiotic securities laws intended to make the entire securities industry akin to a casino did she raise eyebrows with her trade.

#2 Any reasonable analysis shows that Saddam had little to no connection with Al Qaeda on any level and that Osama considered Hussein an enemy. Please review any information suggesting such a link. It has since been thoroughly debunked.

Also please review transcripts of Bush administration officials repeatedly associating Al Qaeda, Iraq, and terrorism in the same sentence for a dumbed-down public (condoleeza rice: "I don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud", as if Saddam's regime was about to nuke an American city, complete hogwash). If you need explicit evidence of their attempt to associate the two, review Cheney being caught in a bald lie when he denied having associated Al Qaeda and Saddam.
