I'm going to swim immediately after I eat and I'm going to run with scissors.

Don't you see? that IS the subject. Where do you expect "them" to stop? When they get everyone to wear a helmet? What happens when people keep dying after that law? What do you thing the next law will be? Will it be "no choppers without front brakes" or will it just be the logical conclusion "No Motorcycles Whatsoever". Again, why are YOU trying to tell someone else what an acceptable level of risk for THEIR head is? -Sean

Default Can't compare Greg McQuide to Indian Larry

Motorcycles and automobiles can be simple transportation or they can be deadly weapons.

Greg McQuide was my favorite writer and he was murdered by a driver using a 4-wheeled assault weapon.

Indian Larry committed suicide playing Russian Roulette with a 2-wheeled weapon.

There is no way to logically tie these two tragedies together.

This spurious argument is getting OLD.we are such a small part of the populace.....if everybody rode with helmets,EMS costs would not drop. If you insist on coming back with this argument OVEr and OVER and OVER,please back it up with facts.

The way you CAN tie them together is they both died on motorcycles. Another way to look at it is stupid, suicidal, Russian Roulette playing Larry, outlived safe, sane, Greg by quite a few years. What ties us ALL together is the increased chance of dying doing what we love to do. Greg was one of my favorites too. We never know when we are going to check out, gear or not.

I finally had a reason to ride to New York City, now he is gone. Rare to find a public motorcycle person whose philosophy on riding cme so close to mine, on completely different machinery.

God speed Larry, my heart goes out to his friends and family.

I work in public safety- if folks were careful all the time, I'd be out of a job.
