Not crazy, but maybe she has some sort of bug deflector. I usually have to stop about that much due to the damn bugs on my face shield. Gets hard to see through all those squashed carapi. Though I usually go tank to tank between stops on some trips if I can. Maybe I need a squeegee system...

Thank you kpaul. I know the IBA has rules, but no matter how they spin it, they're basically promote riding-while-exhausted. That's their whole idea, their purpose, their reason for being. The big ol' Iron Butt Rally is just more of the same. What is it, these days -- 10 consecutive 1000 mile days or something?

Don't get me wrong, I'm mightily impressed by this girl's feat. But I'm also impressed by those packs of squids who go wheeling down my local freeway. Some of them have fantastic skill, but the fact is that they're doing it on a public road.

Thanks! That means I saw her last race at the Sacramento Mile last year when she won the special Silver award. Good way to go out.

I wonder if that was also the last Sacramento Mile I'll ever see.

So if we look at the math:

2800 mi / 50 hrs = 56 mph avg.

But she said she stopped every ~115 miles.

2800 / 115 = So she stopped ~24 times for gas, etc. Assume ~5 min. for gas (and other needs).

24 * 5 = 120 minutes lost to stops.

30 minutes out for "sleep"

I'm gonna round off to an even 2 hours lost to make the math easier and to assume other time lost.

2800 mi / 48 hrs = 58 mph avg. speed.

One fast tiger...

Damn - I meant assume 3 hours lost so 2800 / 47 = 59.5 mph. An even faster tiger...

Like the 60 foot man, Glenn Manning. (the Amazing Colossal Man cir. 1955).

Remember the scene, where he throws that giant hypodermic needle through the army guy?

Maybe you didn't see it...I don't know. Great scene, anyway.

And then there was the 50 Foot Woman (cir. 195. That spawned a lot of ideas involving 35 foot ladders, and human sized condoms.

Yeah, to be a prick...
