Why not ask them about motorcyclists while you're at it?

Yeah. Or "Institutional Rascism".

Maybe so, but the only thing pocket bikes have in common with motorcycles is two wheels and a gas engine. If they were able to keep up with traffic, had DOT approved tires, and had all required lights/instrumentation there would be an argument to be made. The size isn't likely the problem here, it's the complete illegality of evrything else about the pocket bikes.

Haha - no doubt. Still...have you seen these things? The rider's head barely sits as high as the average car door. If you were riding down a street with parked cars on either side, someone at an intersection wouldn't even see you until you were right in front of them.

If I knew they had signed off on their right to be a dumba**, and there was no repurcussions, I'd probably try to plow as many as I could under the front bumper of my Excursion. Then I could paint little pocketbike outlines on the quarterpanels to keep track of my "kills". Remember, there's always someone out there sicker than you are

I want to be Secretary of 12 Cylinder Automobile Sound Testing, Stripper Inspections, U.S. Grand Prix Monitoring, and of course Transportation Secretary, so I could go out and re-write all of those yellow "suggested speed" signs that preceed corners, bumps, etc...

On one of my cross country motorcycle trips, my riding buddy hit 7 birds. As a joke I bought a wax pencil and started drawing birds with X's through them on the tank.

One got wedged between the exhaust pipe and the frame, when we stoped it smelled like KFC chicken.

With the exception of lights you just described my Honda Z50 but it has license plates. Anyway, I think by now you get my point is not about the safety of pocket bikes but the objection to a law banning something. If it were a danger to others I could see it, but this I don’t.
