Default And not only that...

But the CBR-XX is waaay better lookin', even though it looks the same as it did in 1998. And maybe comfier two-up.

The last iteration of the VFR was sportier in intention, had the subtle whine of those gear-driven cams and was lighter than the current one. Nice looking bike, too, although a bit visually heavy in the butt.

Yeah, I'd rather have a Dos Equis too.

Default Re: Best selling bikes?

British bike magazines like Bike regularly post a list of best sellers, as does MCN. The CBR600 is the current kind, and has been for a decade.

French magazine Maximoto does the same. After a twenty-year love affair with DP bikes like the XT600 they have finally moved over to naked middleweights like the Honda Hornet, Yamaha Fazer, SV650 ( hurrah!) and so on. Their biggest selling starter bike is the Honda 125 Varadero, a pipsqueak pretending to be a desert-racer (!?!)

In Germany BMW dominate the way HD does in the US. The GS range are tops and have been for some years.

In Italy the bestseller is the Monster 600: in spite of all the adulation the 916s/998s or 999s get, it's the little monsters that keep the company going, and the home market which is their best.

Websites for Motorrad magazine in Gemany and Moto Sprint or Motociclismo in Italy may be useful, I don't know: give them a try and see.

Re the Honda Cub: I read somewhere once that one third of all the motorcycles ever built have been Hondas, and that one in two Hondas ever built has been a Cub. Which means that one in six of all the motorcycles ever, ever built, since 1870-whatever, have been Cubs.
