Default Squids are not those who are dying

Seems like this whole tread concentrates on squids buying 150 hp bikes and what to do stop it.They are not responsible for recent increase in motorcycle deaths in U.S.40+ year olds riding cruisers are .In 1992 -2002 period death numbers increased TWICE in this group while in 18-25 old group fatalities DROPPED.

We have to do something about those boomers on cruisers. What about mandatory 1 year on Shadow 250 for metric riders and Buell Blast for HD pilots?

For all you people so worried about socialism, loss of democracy, loss of freedom or whatever, take this:

If people want it as their own personal responsibility to act stupid, be it not wearing a helmet, not get decent training, get a 170bhp race monster, is fine. If and only if they are also prepared to take the concequenses of those actions. Meaning that if they end up in a hospital, they pay for their medical bills themselves and from their own pocket. If they don't, and the cost of fixing them up ends up being paid by the community, then that same community has the right to set certain demands to try and control the amount of money that flows into fixing up that stupidity. It is your God given right to be and act stupid, it is however not your God given right to have someone else pay for your stupidity.

Freedom means allowing someone else to do or think whatever he wishes, not claiming your own. That's called anarchy.

Think about that.

Well, exaggeration is nice, but there are no literal 10,000 lbs SUVs on the market today. GVWR is not equal to vehicle weight, it's the maximum safe capacity the engine, transmission, brakes and suspension are engineered to handle.

My Unimog only weighed 8000 lbs, and that's the largest common use military truck I've ever seen on the roads, even a deuce and a half only weighs 12,500 lbs. A Cadillac Escalade or Lincoln Navigator is only in the 5000 lbs range.

Now, don't misunderstand, I agree with you. Just because you can drive a VW Bug, does not mean you can drive a Land Rover. I just don't know what to do about it.

Why not? I see one or two everyday that have NO CLUE how to handle the trucks. Sign me up for that one too. There's tiered licensing for most vehicles which require increased skills to operate. Planes and large truck come immediately to mind. Why not Motorcycles ?

OK people. Before all the live free or die folks get too upset let's remember that operating a motorvehicle is a PRIVILEDGE not a right ... sheesh! Point number 2, your rights only extend to the point where they do not infringe on anothers freedoms. Were operating a vehicle a RIGHT then YES the government should step in the oversee licensing more stringently...why???.... because my dear revolutionaries your operation of your chosen motor vehicle effects every other user of the road and their excerising of their rights.

Default rates go down???

Insurance rates would go down for all of us ...

I've read that one a couple times already. Do you really believe the insurance companies would lower rates? Oh, you've got to be kidding! They have got to be one of the greediest professions there is!

An R1 has enough power to flip itself. The Toyota don't.
