Your '67 Ford had a lot more copies than an old Honda. Plus there's more than one place to get the part; there are literally dozens of places to get old Ford parts: look at hemmings for goodness sake! How many places stock the OEM part for his bike? My guess is few, which is why the price is so high.

Scarcity is one of the factors that makes a price high. My guess is that if the gentleman could have obtained the OEM part from Joe's Cycle from Hemmings, for 4000% less, then Honda's price would come down as well.

Yes, tariffs suck, as does any other form of welfare.

Honda does not give bikes to MoFos for testing purpouses, remember the scooter demolition derby? When a MoFo tester while "under the influence" had a couple of misshaps on a demo Honda scooter? Ouch!

Default Lets get the story straight

As I best remember, noone was under the influence during the scooter test. Yes, one was unintentionally crashed (once, with minimal damage), and yes, it happened to be a Honda, the result of a little immaturity that we are all guilty of at times. I feel this hardly justifies Honda's stance. All bike magazines show pics or wheelies, stoppies, knee-draggin', etc... Everyone knows its only a matter of time before sh!t happens.

The other incident that your unresearched comment refers to, that involved Minime getting drunk at the hotel bar, not at the track.

You are the best researcher!

The fact remains that Honda will not give our website the time of day!

I imagine that the R&D for the knucklehead in 1936 was in fact fairly substantial. Prior to that flatheads were the rule. Indian was never able to field a competitive OHV engine. Maybe they should have thrown some bucks into R&D.

I especially find it odd that they also crashed a Yamaha scooter in that same test, but Yamaha didn't penalize them for it.
