Apparently they are using the flex of the chassis as part of the suspension (eg when leaned way over) and have mounted shock struts along the deltabox chassis members to dampen this "spring".

Barros sitting pretty on final day of Jerez IRTA test



The IRTA test at Jerez de la Frontera finally drew to a close today after three days of intense work for the majority of MotoGP teams. The second day had been a washout for most riders but there were no signs of the clouds today, with the bright sunshine only being marred by a strong breeze blowing across the Andalusian circuit. In the scramble for good times during the latter part of the day, it was Alex Barros who eventually went fastest, although it was still just outside his blistering lap time from Friday. Colin Edwards was second fastest behind the Brazilian, and is rapidly bringing the Aprilia RS Cube up to the high level that was expected of the three-cylinder machine when it was launched over a year ago. With Carlos Checa third, the parity in quality amongst the different manufacturers was highlighted as Troy Bayliss impressed once more on board the Ducati Desmosedici. The Australian spent much of the afternoon at the top of the timesheets, eventually succumbing to the late pushes from his rivals to finish fourth quickest.

Bayliss´ team-mate Loris Capirossi crashed twice in the breezy conditions, but the feisty Italian still managed to ride on, and was joined in the gravel during the day by Noriyuki Haga twice, Marco Melandri and Olivier Jacque. All were cleared to continue by the medical team except the Frenchman, whose bad luck with pre-season injuries was compounded when a second examination revealed a possible fracture in his shoulder blade, meaning he will not ride in Estoril later this week.

For point of reference, the top 2 250s (both Aprilias) were faster than all the Kawasaki MotoGPs, and the top 125 (also Aprilia) was as fast as Hofmann.
