Iv been following his career for about the last 5 or 6 years. One of the brightest futures in the sport of Motorcycle roadracing. The sport has lost someone that was very special. RIP Peter Lenz.

Terrible news. I heard he was actually hit by another rider. Truly sad. RIP- Peter. Hope the boy that hit him is alright. He's got to feel the weight of the world right now.

When I was thirteen I raced in the Hobo Enduro at Calfornia City back in 1971. There was a trail that had two danger markers on eaither side of the trail, two big mounds of dirt that had short stretches of rail road track behid them, if you stayed on the trail, you'd be fine.
Right before going between the two mounds of dirt, my 175 Yamaha loaded up on me, and while I was waiting for the bike to clean out (gas tap off, bike leaned over to one side) some kid on a yellow tank Yamaha 90 Enduro thhought he's impress me and instead of following the trail, would jump off the big mound of dirt (that had the RR track behind it). He hit the track broke his neck, and died in my arms. He could only have been about ten, eleven years old. That scene still haunts me to this day. There was nothing I could do.

So, who was the oldest fatality? They never give you the whole story...age bias, no doubt.
